The project comprises a series of interconnected buildings arranged around existing trees and playing fields. The new school buildings will cater for up to 450 students and 132 preschoolers.
A large multi-function hall will form part of the development that sits to the south-eastern side amongst the class rooms and associated school administration areas.
This ACT Education project will provide critical education resources for the northern Canberra Suburb of Throsby and surrounding areas. The practical yet aesthetic design presented a number of challenges with regards to evacuation systems, fire services and construction materials. To soften the harsh exterior and reduce the impact on the environment, renewable products such as timber were incorporated into the building fabric.
This new state of the art school will reach practical completion at the end of 2021 and welcome its new students for the 2022 school year.
