This new education facility will cater for 800 students from years 7 to 10 with room for future expansion to accommodate up to 1000 students if required. The new school includes high quality general and specialist learning environments, incorporating indoor and outdoor learning spaces, as well as integrated spaces to support students with specialised needs.
The design, which is master planned by award-winning Canberra architecture firm – CK Architecture – includes additional facilities available for community use outside of school hours. This includes; a double gymnasium with basketball, netball, futsal and volleyball markings, covered hard courts suitable for basketball and netball and the oval can be used for soccer, rugby union and rugby league games. The multipurpose hall will also be available for community use.
Lit Consulting was involved in both stages of the two-stage design phase and tendered construction phase, providing critical fire safety engineering design input at the PSP and FSP phases, and currently providing construction services through to practical completion.
Due to the large footprint covered by the school buildings and close proximity of several integrated spaces, Lit Consulting were required to develop fire engineered performance solutions relating to construction, egress and fire services. The school is planned for completion in time for the 2023 school year.
